The CUAV SKYE 2 is a high-precision airspeed measurement system developed specifically for professional VTOL and fixed-wing UAV systems. Thanks to its integrated STM32F4 processor and advanced compensation algorithms, it not only measures airspeed but also processes the data and transmits the most accurate information to the flight controller (FC). The biggest difference of the SKYE 2 is its automatic heating system; this completely eliminates the risk of the pitot tube icing up and providing erroneous data (and potential crash risks) in low temperatures or during humid cloud passages.

SKYE 2 Key Features

• Smart Heating System: Continuously monitors ambient temperature thanks to built-in temperature sensors. When the risk of icing is detected, it automatically activates the heater, ensuring full reliability in winter conditions and high-altitude flights.

• Dual-Temperature Compensation: Calibrates with dual temperature sensors to minimize temperature-induced drift in airspeed data. This ensures high accuracy over a very wide temperature range.

• DroneCAN (UAVCAN) Protocol: Transmits data digitally over the CAN bus. This prevents electromagnetic interference (EMI) issues common with analog sensors, and cabling distance does not affect flight safety.

• All-in-One Design: Pitot tube, differential pressure sensor, processor, and heating unit are combined in a single compact housing. Installation is extremely simple.

• High Waterproofing: Its IP44 protection class structure and special drainage design prevent water accumulation inside the pitot tube in rainy weather.

Usage Recommendation:

SKYE 2 is fully compatible with ArduPilot and PX4 autopilot software. For best performance, it is recommended to configure the sensor as "UAVCAN Airspeed" in the flight controller. It is a critical safety component, especially for VTOL aircraft performing autonomous cargo transport and long-range mapping.
